Critic reviews
New but already see problemsUnrealistic amount of calories burned for 45 minutes of weight lifting. Average calories should be 90 - 400, Not just (1).
Also, Unrealistic calories burned for cycling and walking.
No area to add coffee and tea. So added to water.
Nice layout, but time consumingI find that more often than not I have to add in the food I eat. I wish there was a bigger database for foods so I don’t have to
look up calories each time. Also simple exercises like walking aren’t listed.
No way to enter your own recipesYou can track pre entered foods but I didn’t see a way to create custom recipes. Also they make you go through a sign up process
before you can explore what the app does.
No custom goalsThis app would be amazing if it only allowed the user to set one’s own custom macros. Reaching a target is harder when the goal
post is unknown.
Scanning issuesDecent app but when I scan an item, that portion always freezes up. Scanning makes things smoother and increases the user
experience. I hope this part of the app improves.
I like this appI like this app, but recently it started doing my automatic calorie counts incorrectly. It has my calories at 2500 + no matter
what the goal is.
Scanning not working with IPhone 14 ProSince upgrading my phone the scan feature isn’t working.
iPhoneWhy does iPhone keep popping up on its own under exercise as if using iPhone is exercise?
I’m not really sureSeemed like a good app at first, but when I opened it and put my birthday it said I was underage. I feel like this should be
allowed for children (I’m 11) because you can be under-weight at any age. If you can, please allow this to be used for younger
people. :)
Thank you for your time!
I used this before . ConfusingI have to get used to navigating the newer app. It's kind of clumsy. I just need to reorient. But I like that I find things on
the list that are unique. I wish they had a bar scanner so you don't have to put in the nutritional info manually. I liked that
about another app I used.
MICRONUTRIENTS NEED WORKThe micronutrient tracking seems to be quite inaccurate. I’ve compared levels of my micronutrients elsewhere and have noticed
that this app underrates them.
Meal plansWhy do I have to wait to see the meal plans. I’d like to plan accordingly. The app suggests I spend $260 on “1 week” of
groceries before I ever even see what the meals are or in what order to prevent my food from spoiling before I can use it.
BewareIf you’re using this app to track vitamins and minerals it’s quite inaccurate. Many goods will have the item listed with all
the details but it’s not counted in the daily diary so you won’t get an accurate account for those nutrients.
Breastfeeding momI love everything about the app. I just wish they had a way to account for breast-feeding mom.
MisleadingSigned up for the 1 year with the 7 day free trial. Was billed the same day. Free trial never happened and now I am stuck with the
app whether I like it or not. Being lied to is NOT something I appreciate at all. Buyer be ware.
Currently brokenI have used this and benefitted on and off for years. Right now, it crashes every time I try to track using “my meals”
Recent update issuesI’ve used my plate for years and the recent updates either crash or change calories entered. It’s making it almost unusable
and I hope it gets resolved soon!
Good but a few annoyancesThe app overall is pretty decent, but more and more I am running into foods that just crash the app when I try to add them and
barcodes of foods that it just refuses to recognize.
It’s okThere is still a lot of guessing involved in the free version. Many of the foods I eat aren’t loaded in their database
Loved this untilI was completely happy with app until 4 weeks in. The app stopped tracking calories burned with my Apple Watch.
Hard to adjustIt’s hard to adjust the amount eaten if I had a different amount than a serving according to the package label. Otherwise, this
is making me think about food in a way that I hadn’t before.
