KwikBrain is a puzzle game app, developed by Anthony Brticevic, available on iOS and Android since its release in March 2021. The updated version 1.6.1 is now available to download, compatible with iOS 13.0+ and Android 10+. Before downloading this app, let's quickly review what KwikBrain has to offer.
About KwikBrain
Dear Reader,
I am a runner. I use to read a lot on how to run better. Now want to Just Do It.
Don't get me wrong. The best runners in the world support their running with science, books and brains. Yet reading and thinking aren't the only ways to make progress as to cardiovascular exercise like running, hobbies like chess or playing new apps.
You can think more or do more or both. Do what feels best for you!
...
The app you are considering is about doing more in less time.
...
In my experience as a social chess player who just plays for fun, I find chess thought stimulating. And, very similarly, I find playing my app to be stimulating, challenging and enjoyable.
...
The "timer" built-in to the app maintains a challenging pace. The excitement of apprehensively entering answers produces a mix of feelings from frustration to pride.
Game Levels range from 1 to 30. You get an "extra minute" for each increase in Level. You get 20 points for a correct answer on the first try, 10 on a second try and 5 on a third try.
The app has "simple rules". Rules based on arithmetic. Easily learn.
Consider the 3 main rules:
Rule 1: Multiply pieces by their respective values (except Kings and Pawns); Rule 2: Add the Kings and Pawns by their respective values;
Rule 3: Add the totals of Rules 1 & 2 and enter as Answer.
For example, the Level 5 position in the Screenshot above comprises a Bishop (3), a Knight (3) and 3 Pawns (1).
We can easily solve the Level 5 position. We multiply the Bishop and Knight (3 * 3 = 9), which is Rule 1. We add the Pawns (1 + 1 + 1 = 3), which is Rule 2.
And, finally, we add the respective totals from Rules 1 & 2 for our Answer (9 + 3 = 12), which is Rule 3.
If you believe the game could be improved, please write a review.
Best wishes,
Anthony Brticevic
