Dünyamızın 3/4 'ünü su kaplamaktadır, fakat dünyadaki suların ancak %2.5'i tatlı sudur. Bunun da %70'i buzullarda, toprakta, atmosferde, yeraltı sularında bulunur ve kullanılamaz durumdadır.
